What to Bring to Pick Flowers
It’s best to bring your own container to help your flowers stay fresh and hydrated on the way home. Once you get to Leaning Barn Farms, you will be provided with One Gallon Pails and Scissors to take out into the fields and gardens. When you have picked all your flowers, head back into the Flower Shop and we will ring you up. At that time, we will help transfer your blooms into your own container.
During the summer, it can get hot here in Idaho. While we have several shady spots to sit and rest during your visit, it is a good idea to follow a few guidelines. Wear light weight loose clothing that is light in color to help keep you cool. It is also a good idea to bring your water bottle with you to help keep you well hydrated.
Flowers like to be picked during the cooler temperatures, so we close the farm early when the thermometer starts to rise too much above 87*. Please check our Facebook page for the most current information regarding our hours before you drive out.
If you have a bee allergy, please be aware that bees do go hand and hand with growing flowers. While we don’t love that some people have serious allergic reactions to bee stings, we do love the unique jobs that bees do in the garden. They are such hard workers and their special duties encourage pollination of our beautiful blooms. While visiting Leaning Barn Farms, please give these hard working farm hands the respect and distance they deserve.
Leaning Barn Farms is committed to following the Idaho Statutes regarding Service Animals. Therefore, Service Dogs and Service Dogs in Training are always welcome at Leaning Barn Farms. As there are farm dogs who call the farm home, we do ask that you contact us ahead of your visit to make arrangements to bring your working companion with you.
Leaning Barn Farm is a charming but rustic working flower farm that is open to the public. Guests can expect to walk on gravel drives and grass walkways during their visit.
